Trend Viewer issue

Post by philip.joebstl »

Hello,

I have an issue regarding the Trend Viewer. I have an iX T7A-Panel and sometimes when I open the trend page (i have the standard trend viewer template in use) it gets very slow. The trend viewer looks on a data logger, samples are made every 5 minutes, and i can look on the last week for maximum. I have 12 pens on it, and for example if you disable one pen, you have to wait up to 30 seconds till the panel is working again.

Is this simply too much for the processor, or do you have another trend tool that works faster?

Thank you for your reply,
best regards

There is a system tag that monitors the HMI's CPU usage. Put that on the same screen as the trend viewer and you can see how much CPU is being used. If it is up around 70%, then the HMI could be under powered for your application.

You will also want to be using iX Developer 2.0, as there was some changes that relate to the Trend Viewer. It is much faster than it was under iX 1.31.

Hi Mark,

like you were expecting, the cpu load is very heavy in the application described on top. It goes to 100 percent while opening the trend page or changing the showed pens. Massive decreasing of the sampling rate will do it I think.

As a little information: I tried the same application on a T15B panel, here trend viewer works fine, only at changing showed pens the cpu load goes up shortly - but never to 100 percent.

Once more thanks for the help!

The trend viewer was updated in iX Developer 2.0. It is much faster in iX 2.0 than it was in version 1.31. You should try using iX 2.0 if you are not already. I can send you an update if you do not have iX 2.0.

Unfortunately I think your only option is to use the TxB panels. Your project sounds like it is too complex to run on the TxA as quickly as you need it to.
