Run other applications from IX?

I would like to make a service screen similar to the Windows desktop with Icons to start other applications, e.g. configuring software for regulators.

Is it possible to do this and if so, how?

I have been able to start Adobe Reader using the "Run" action but it runs behind the IX screen so it can not be seen.

You need to change the topmost setting in iX Developer.

This forum post tells you how to externally run programs via script. You can associate the code with a picture in iX that looks like an icon.

FYI I saw the other thread after I posted this. I tried that too
but the winows opened behind when I tried that too.
