Problem with recipes and network file locations

I've noticed that when I save my iX development files in a network folder, I can generally open/edit/save my project files without any problems.

However, if I try to open a recipe database, then iX developer will crash. Oftentimes, I have lost work unrelated to the recipe because the project had not yet been saved.

Is there a workaround for this? I'd prefer to store development files on the network so that they are regularly backed up. It's problematic to constantly have to manually back up from a local disk to the network.

I am using build 2.0.463. Screenshot of the error message is attached.

Windows, by default, blocks .NET applications from being run on Network drives. That is why we recommend that you do not run or store iX Dev projects on network drives. You may be able to work with your Network Admin to set the permissions on your Network Folder to allow you to store/run iX projects from the network drive. iX Dev needs full permissions to the folder and you need to allow .NET applications to be run from the network drive.

So, it is essentially a permissions problem?

Everything else works fine except for recipe editing.

I'll see if I can get enhanced permission from my IT department based on your comments.
