Can you create normal PC applications (to run on win 7 or 8) using iX tool.

Yes, you just target a PC instead of a HMI. You can select what unit you are targeting when you initially create an iX project. You can also change the target by going to "Project->Settings". If you are going to run an iX project on a PC, you need to purchase a iX Dev runtime license, otherwise the program will automatically shutdown after 30 minutes.
