Change default screen in runtime script

I'm aware of how to set the default screen in the design environment. Is there a way of changing the default screen in script?

There appears to be an XML parse error for the alarmViewer object that prevents a desired screen that contains an alarmviewer from being shown in script 'screen.show()'. The error always causes the default screen to be loaded regardless of containing the alarmviewer. Changing the default screen would be a work around of this problem.
