Comms Problem with T7B & Multiple Controllers on DH485

Post by HMI_Control »

Hi

I have configured a T7B for communication on a simple DH485 Network
with 2 Controllers. ML1500 and ML1200 and now a T7B replacing a PV600
that has been working fine. (Using a Net AIC at each Node)

Configuring controllers in iX developer appears straight forward but can only get one to communicate at a time.

Controller 1 DH485 (ML1500) is Node 2, HMI Node 6 & Controller 2 (ML1200) is Node 4 HMI Node 6
both on COM 2 RS485

Interestingly I get a Comms error on the T7B for the Controller 2 , but no address is shown .( Address is shown for controller 1 when you disconnect it
from the Net AIC.

Suggestions welcome.
Many thanks
Mike

Hi HMI_Control,
From the sound of this you are using two separate drivers on the same comm port. This is not allowed. Each serial driver requires a unique comm port through which to communicate. You would need to use one driver with multiple stations for each PLC. Stations can be referenced per tag by adding a #:Tag_Address where # is the node on the network.
